Just watched the trump press conference. The word gun was never even mentioned.
There’s always a good time to capitalize on Reddit karma if there’s a mass shooting 🙄
Can't have a school shootings if you destroy the school system!
I don't get it.
What makes your constitution so difficult to review, will it take a mass shooting in a white house to even get the conversation started?
Or a shooting of a president?.... oh wait someone did that already.... Didn't even help
I hear from Americans they don't want to come to Australia because the snakes and drop bars might kill them.... Seems some places in America there are Americans who want to kill you
Steps to the Gun Control Debate
1. Mass shooting occurs.
2. People who don't know anything about guns or gun rights start screaming "DO SOMETHING", without even thinking that there could be other ways to approach the problem.
3. Someone throws together some overreaching legislation that will violate the Constitution, be absurdly expensive, totally ineffective, or all of the above.
4. People who actually understand gun rights say "Hell no".
5. Legislation dies before it even has a chance, people from step #2 don't understand why and start calling people from step #4 "ammosexuals" or other such derogatory term, then continue to be frustrated by the lack of action because they don't know what they're talking about or what to expect.
6. See #1.
seems like folks from australia and the uk love to deliberately provoke americans by implying individuals are personally responsible for what the NRA has done.
meanwhile if you ask them what they personally have done to enact gun reform in their countries or how to stop the NRA, the crickets come out.
theyre just being intentionally provocative and people should just smile and nod and say thanks for the advice when they come with their taunts and smug sense of superiority.
Implying people haven't been talking about it non-stop for decades
