268 ko-ni-chi-what I got struck by lightning up there and almost died. 6.5/10 -- would not repeat
193 scud42 Hint for others, if you descend the hiking trail from the top , about a half mile back there's a cool subalpine area with a bunch of fir trees. Entire area smells of Christmas. Halfway back there, along the trail, are also some big wild blackberry bushes.
161 6502man Very nice, but you forgot to tell us how early you had to get up. ;-)
36 the_phillipines Great shot! Love to see nice things from around my area on the internet for everyone else to see how beautiful some of it is
37 MountedCzarina Fun fact: the Appalachian Mountains used to be as high as the Rockies before they were eroded.
29 kevin_michael This is one of my favorite places! It gets buried in snow every winter (by NC standards at least) and the dude who discovered it died trying to prove that it was the highest peak east of the Mississippi River.
