This is why I don't ride anymore. You can be the best and safest MC rider but all it takes is one idiot (or malfunctioning car) to seriously injure you or kill you. The times I tried to ride after getting hit gave me flashbacks so severe that I couldn't keep it up, all because some other idiot decided to turn right in front of me.
Biker was fortunate he was going slow and the bike took the brunt of the impact from the tire.
Naw that little white had a tire blow out and said tire kept on rolling. That biker landed/rolled like a champ though.
Good on the biker for being prepared and dressed for the contingency.
Let me give some context here.
When a tire comes off a car it is going the same speed as the car is. A tire by itself is pretty heavy and a tire mounted on a rim and inflated correctly is really heavy.
A situation like this happened to my nephew except he wasn't in a car or on a motor cycle. He was in his stroller being pushed across a crosswalk by his mom. The stroller saved his life and took the brunt of the impact from the tire. That said he still ended up with a fractured eye socket, fractured skull, and bleeding in his brain which thankfully as far as we can tell has lead to no impaired cognitive abilities.
Moral of the story: check to make sure your wheels are secure, lug nuts can loosen over time and don't make illegal turns because you might just kill someone when you get hit and your wheel continues on without the rest of your vehicle.
Looks like the little white car of death from all the Russia dash cam videos on YouTube!!
Well, it actually *literally* came off of the white car that pulls off of the road after losing its wheel.
Not literally out of nowhere. It came off the white car behind the bike.
I'm not sure you understand what that word means.
