What do you bet the car veering to the left was texting?
Watched a guy this morning do the same thing, only he hit those flat plastic upright "paddles" with reflective tape at the top. He was texting, drifted over, hit three of them "thwap, thwap, thwap" before he could react to correct himself.
Please everyone...put the phone down. It's really not that important to risk your life, or anyone's life...for a text.
That jersey barrier placement was far less than optimal, but the car wasn't paying attention anyway.
With no warning signs or anything, the barriers suddenly start after an intersection, and they are right against the driving lane with zero shoulder.
Still, anyone driving toward it should have seen it and not just plowed straight into it.
The number of texting/driving situations I have to avoid on a daily basis is staggering. The other day while driving home (25 min trip), I counted an insane 1 out of 4 drivers holding or looking at their phones while driving.
I am totally in support of making punishments for distracted driving MUCH more harsh. Someone who willingly puts other people's lives at such a risk should absolutely not be allowed to drive.
This is why we pick up more dead bodies from texting than drinking. Times have changed.
Edit: than for then. u/jemkills joke applies so upvote him damnitt!

I hope that important text got sent out before the accident.
