In theory if there is a fire we turn up the anaesthetic and leave the patient if it is close, or try to evacuate them if it is further away in the building. We have had to evacuate our small animal surgical suite a couple of times, once when there actually was a fire. We put a load of sterile drapes on the patient and transported him to equine theatre to finished over there.
2 dafromasta Didn't ever think of this possibility even after seeing hospital evacuations during the Northern California fires in Santa Rosa earlier this year. I'm honestly still surprised that the devastation from these fires up here wasn't bigger news
