The fact it's even a question is amazing to me. So many people in denial.
I think my biggest issue with trump isn't because he is violently opposed to helping anyone other then himself and his white power old friends, its that he has made being racist, judgmental, rude, and insulting ok again.
that's NOT ok.

One of my favorite topics on reddit! Not Trump nor racism but actually a much more interesting phenomenon: Hawthorne bias. In my observation, common to all of these discussions is that the top rated comments tend to sidestep the question about whether these countries actually are, for lack of a better word, “shitholes.” The elephant in the room is that most of the population (especially but not just the laity) would actually silently agree that the mentioned countries do crudely match the description offered by the President.
But it is such an aborrent thing to say that you would never be able to survey people about such a view. It would be difficult to survey people about what they think about Trump’s comments because to answer in the affirmative is to potentially invite the same level of outrage onto yourself. Just thinking about the topic makes my mirror neurons scream, “RED ALERT, DON’T SAY ANYTHING EVEN TANGENTIAL ABOUT THIS TOPIC FOR FEAR OF SEVERE REPRISAL.”
I think that despite the public displays of outrage, the very broad consensus on the veracity of the claim paradoxically will give Trump increased overt credibility in the eyes of his fan base and a not insignificant covert credibility from other members of the electorate that are not his direct supporters. After reading, “Fire and Fury,” this is straight from the Steve Bannon playbook.
No one will publicly tell you that they don’t want immigration from Haiti, Africa, and Central America, but huge swathes of the country would willingly (though tacitly) go along with restrictions. Regardless of the alleged racism involved.
This is an old copypasta that gets brought up in Bestof like once a month every time it seemingly gets reposted. There are political groups that are seeking to manipulate Reddit that build these copypastas to repost when situationally convenient—in other words this isn’t organic content.
History of Mar-a-Lago, a formerly segregated resort:
>Trump instead turned the estate into a private club that—unlike other Palm Beach old money resorts like the Bath and Tennis Club and Everglades Club—**accepted as members Jews, blacks, and, as one Everglades member said, "people who try to call attention to themselves".** The new club hosted concerts by Céline Dion and Billy Joel, had beauty-pageant contestants as guests, and violated local noise ordinances. Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley spent their honeymoon at Mar-a-Lago.
