Edit: the book was called 'Nothing Lasts Forever' if anyone is interested. I forget the author's name.
I Am Legend (2007).
I thought the movie had an interesting premise, what with the "vampires" basically being regressed humans. Then I read its [wiki summary](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_Legend_(novel)) and realized that movie could have had a much more interesting plot.
Just recently, Let the Right One In
Matilda. It was my favorite movie growing up and I will never forget when I saw the book in my elementary school library.
Forrest Gump! It was years after seeing the movie that I realized it was a book, but it's definitely worth a read
Stardust. Ended up really liking both, but prefer the movie.
Stardust and Howl’s Moving Castle.
no country for old men. Sent me way down the mccarthy rabbit hole.
not a movie, but The Expanse. Best show I’ve watched in years if not ever. Just about to start the books
Great movie and great book. Though they are very different.
The book had a part that had me randomly laughing like an idiot on a quiet bus.
Blew my mind to learn (long ago) that [Fight Club](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5759.Fight_Club) was a book.
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold... i haven't read the book yet, but i've watched the movie a few times and absolutely will give a chance to the book
Stalker, blade runner and kingsman (that last one is a comic book, but still)
*Children of Men*. My late mother-in-law was a big reader of mysteries & talked about P. D. James a lot. I always assumed she only wrote mystery novels till after I saw the movie.
The Neverending Story. I had watched it a million times when I was younger and I didn't even realize it was a book until I was much, much older.
My first comment ever in Reddit. I loved One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, but Ken Kesey's novel is just incredible.
The book it was based off of is called 'the wettest county in the world'
I had no idea Rambo: First Blood was based off a book until just recently
Didn't really like the film but Enders Game and the whole series was great.
