I feel all bittersweet when i finish a book.
This is why I like the goodreads app it’s like a trophy case/ body count
Eh, I feel a deep sadness when I finish a book. Like a melancholic bittersweetness that I'd been able to come along with the journey but it's come to an end now.
lucky you, leaves me feeling all depressed for a day or two.
I'm the opposite. I'm disappointed a good thing comes to an end.
It's kinda why I like long series or big books.
There's nothing like a good climax! Totally agree.
Even better when you've got someone around and sees all of the books and starts asking questions about them, now that's what i call a triumph
Depending on the book it can be happy or sad too. I'm a HP fan so finishing the saga for the first time was like, "wait, now what do I do?"..
What I love about a finished series (and obviously stand-alone books) is that I now get to extend the story based on how *I* want to.
Essentially I enjoy a week or two of unreleased fanfic in my head. Typically it turns out worse than 50 shades, sometimes I think I made the next count of monte cristo. The world will never know.
Yeah, a great feeling to conquer the Wuthering ‘Heights’ of perusal.
This is why sometimes I hold off on reading certain books. I love the idea of finishing them and absorbing all of what waits in store for me, but at the same time, once I've done that, the journey is all over. Sometimes it's better for me to hold off for a while before reading a book, to savour the potential of whatever information or anecdotes or adventure is waiting for me inside that book.
