Last paragraph sums it up perfectly. Most women reading these are having 'surrender of power' fantasies where they want a man that takes control and does 'all the right things' which is just unrealistic, but that's why it's a fantasy.
What other fantasy are you going to sell them on? Who wants to read a book where they see themselves as the protagonist, but the protagonist is flawed and makes mistakes, has to make hard decisions, learn, and improve on themselves?
That's not a fantasy, that's reality.
