My dad sneaks out of the house every year at the same time for my parents’ first date anniversary. He puts on his old high school letter jacket, rings the doorbell, and asks, “Is Kris home?” only to ask her if she’ll go out with him, reenacting that first moment 44 years ago.

In Speed, Howard Payne, played by Dennis Hopper, always uses the phone by holding it to his left ear with his right hand. This is very probably due to hearing loss in his right ear caused by the same accident that cost him his left thumb.

367 felleese Wasn't it just a week ago Hasina was saying it's not their problem and that they were turning the refugees away? What caused this change?
1676 -eagle73 Good on Bangladesh. It already has its own issues with poverty, overpopulation and corruption so I hope it can actually cope with these refugees. They're probably better off there than being abused near the border in Myanmar - imagine being thrown out of your land like that.
1352 yx2342 Good for Bangladesh to welcome 700,000 new citizens, because those people aren't going back to Myanmar
23 grundo1561 In 7th grade, my community accepted a large number of Karen refugees from Myanmar. The Karen are a Christian minority. I remember I once asked one of my Karen friends what he thought of his old country (I was 13 and unaware they were refugees). He said he remembered seeing babies burned alive and dumped in mass graves. That stuck with me.
687 blueSky_Runner This issue is getting almost no coverage in the US media. I was never expecting it to get a ton of attention here but a genocide is occuring and I have yet to see even a 5 minute segment about it on most major networks.

97 autotldr This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](http://www.dhakatribune.com/bangladesh/2017/09/12/bangladesh-can-feed-700000-rohingya-refugees/) reduced by 55%. 46 RandomJesusAppeared Someone might have raised this already, but I didn't see it. I don't know if "aftermath" is the right word in this case. The ethnic cleansing in Myanmar is still very much going on, and many more people will be displaced before this is over.
95 SadCamelDub It's so uplifting to see my country on the news for something other than killing journalists. Good job, BD!
