My dad crying after I tell him I passed the bar exam. My dad wanted to be a lawyer when he was a young man in Nicaragua but he had to escape with my mom and sister due to the civil war in the 80s. I was born years later & somehow made my way to be a lawyer & couldn’t do it without him. Love my dad.

12347 NeShep I don't think any company is ever going to tell its investors that it regrets spending $6 billion on **anything** regardless of the circumstances.
590 FollowSteph Unlike licensing the content they create stays in their library permanently which will make a bigger and bigger difference over time. Wasn't it Scrubs that cost $17 million per year to license? Now imagine they spent double that, $30 million. It would still be worth it because after 2 years it's all profit, and it will last more than 2 years. Not only that but the deeper their library goes the higher the value to subscribe. Yes they will replace scrubs with something new in 1-2 years but each year they have to pay. Now imagine it keeps growing rather than changing!! I believe it's a great long term play by them.
4424 toasterslayer I hope not. I do think they are flooding the Originals market a bit too much though. None of their new shows seem to be getting the level of attention their originals were getting a few years ago.
1582 xeonicus "Disney revealed earlier this month it will pull all of its content from Netflix, including all of its Star Wars and Marvel movies, in favor of its own streaming service that will launch in 2019." "Splintering streaming services" (i.e. money grabs) I wonder if these clueless CEOs realize this sort of thing isn't sustainable. People aren't going to pay for several subscription services. This is why piracy happens.
255 Twat_The_Douche As long as 5 billion goes towards the new Witcher series...
384 SailingPatrickSwayze They are definitely suffering from "too much" original content right now. Everything gets lost in the noise. However, I do think it has the added benefit of hiding the bad stuff because there's always something new coming out. Ultimately, they just want a catalog of their own. Someday the 6 billion spent will come back 100 fold. Don't get me wrong. I don't like the strategy, but I understand why they do it. I much prefer HBO's quality over quantity. I have re-watched most of the the HBO shows, but I have no desire to re-watch any of the Netflix shows I've seen. Good enough for one viewing.
152 Mistertamborineguy Yeah, what kind of business admits regret over their own decisions?
421 SHREDDY_KRUEGAR Fuck that, I just want them to keep Malcolm in the middle. They can keep their Brad Paisley comedy rodeo masterpiece.
95 XROOR When Netflix original content FIRST came out, it was like a guarantee like the Good Housekeeping Seal of the 50's....today, too many Netflix originals are like those movies that went straight to DVD. The Daniel Craig one is horrible btw
