The look on the kittens face.."What's happening?? I can't see, what's happening!?!"
“Is it small and fluffy? It’s probably mine.”
So, for any vets out there, what are the downsides of giving dog milk to a kitten?
Edit: Gathered so far: Dog milk has much less protein and much more sugar than cat milk. Obvious when you look at it because dogs need much more fat and less protein developing than cats do. However, it seems kittens can live healthy on dog milk juuuuust long enough to start eating solid foods. Thank you all for your comments :D
Biology is wild. The dog gets flooded with so many motherly hormones after birth that she's just like "yes all babies in the vicinity are my babies and I will love them and provide for them"
I don't want to sound insensitive but I think some of her children *may be adopted.*
My doggo had a hysterectomy when she was seven due to an infected womb. She was a hormonal shit for a few days after; we gave her two toys, a bunny and a puppy, and they were her actual babies, especially the latter. She nursed them, groomed them. Then she returned to normal, and ripped the puppy plush to bits.
Oxytocin is a hell of a hormone.
