My dad sneaks out of the house every year at the same time for my parents’ first date anniversary. He puts on his old high school letter jacket, rings the doorbell, and asks, “Is Kris home?” only to ask her if she’ll go out with him, reenacting that first moment 44 years ago.

In Speed, Howard Payne, played by Dennis Hopper, always uses the phone by holding it to his left ear with his right hand. This is very probably due to hearing loss in his right ear caused by the same accident that cost him his left thumb.

1698 PM_SIDEBOOB_PLEASE Anyone have an explanation for this one?
2648 maxseamus While cool and all, my question is, Who thought of doing this? What lead up to this discovery and by who? How long before this knowledge was known before it ended up on youtube? This history behind this must be fascinating.

259 Raincoat_Carl I just recreated this without too much difficulty: https://youtu.be/vgoL_cDVoqg Here's my 10 minutes of tinkering of insight - As others have mentioned, what's likely happening is the gas exit is constricted due to the presence of the ink and thus the nozzle velocity is increased. The combustion rate is fixed, thus the equilibrium point is advanced farther out than the nozzle. Get this non-visible flame nonsense out of here. It's mass flow balance. A couple other notes: I had to mess with the flow rate on the lighter and set it near max (without overcranking it) to get consistent flow, and it would only last a few ignition cycles as the ink is expelled from the exit due to viscous effects of the gas removing the ink from the exit nozzle (basically cleaning itself). Simple thing to redab the nozzle and go at it again. You blow in the pen. No sucking tonight ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Edit: Friend told me to shove something non flammable in there to do the same thing. 68 ArcticKid Another fun thing to do with those specific, awful lighters. Is pop the too, and crank that little flame control valve. You can get a massive flame out of those fuckers.
