TIL Keanu Reeves was sued by a woman who suggested that he used hypnosis and impersonated her ex-husband to impregnate her. She sought $3 million in spousal support from the actor, and $150,000/month, retroactively, in child support. DNA test proved he was not the father and the suit was thrown out.

2609 stonecats renovation rule: if it's solid wood, *(not laminated particle board)* it's usually worth salvaging.
1057 BlueberryFish Looks great, but please take my advice and make sure you use the clear poly not yellow poly (or something else intended to water proof). Also, keep rubbing alcohol away from it even once it's waterproofed. We just redid our bathroom and learned the hard way.
77 thiseye Did you have to sand it down first before painting?
159 bloodshotnipples I've been telling clients for years that painted cabinetry saves tons of money during remodeling. I make sure the cabinets are worth the effort, sometimes they are beyond help or repair. The money saved goes into flooring and appliances. Even flooring can be overlaid in ideal situations. Simply changing hardware makes a huge difference and improves a tired kitchen. Nice job.
206 bmikey Only thing I would say is also paint the hinges black for the full transformation, but looks outstanding!
329 SloppyJoeBeaver I like wood grain, call me crazy.
51 coldbloodednuts Who knew there were so many people who think that painting wood is a mortal sin? I think your bathroom vanity looks absolutely fabulous. The color and the hardware are dynamite.
12 crapshack I think it looks nice. I'm in the process of painting my kitchen cabinets, and even with just the primer on things look brighter and clean. The commenters suggesting that you should have stained might not appreciate the amount of effort and stink involved in stripping cabinetry. Its messy and time consuming. Plus when you're done you still have to do the sanding, staining, and sealing. It'd be nice if I had time and didn't want to minimize the fumes in the house with a baby living here, but it's just not practical. There was also a comment about $38 being a lot for the hardware, and clearly that person has never priced cabinet hardware before!
