This is devastating for his family and the team. WSU and Pullman is such a tight knit community, I am sure the people over their are shocked and saddened. Wasn't Tyler Hilinski the overwhelming favorite to start for WSU?
Wasn't he the favorite to succeed Luke Falk? Prayers from a Duck fan.
This. Is. Shitty.
Rip #3 Tyler Hilinski. You won't be forgotten.
Thank you for everything.
Please guys if you know anyone with any type of problems going on, don't be afraid to ask if they are okay.
:( This fucking sucks.
If you're wondering a bit more about Hilinski, he came in for an injured Luke Falk and overcame a 21 point deficit, into Triple OT to beat Boise State this year:
Most Coug fans were really excited to see him take over for Falk, even though he was a bit raw. :(
From what I understand, the UW Dawg Pack is planning on having a moment of silence before the UW-WSU basketball game next weekend.
This is way more than just the Apple Cup.
....i'm absolutely speechless. What the fuck
As a Spartan living in Seattle, I am sending love and hugs to all of my Coug friends, neighbors and coworkers. Heartbroken.
Most people are indicating suicide attempt and obviously success. Awful stuff. Damn it. Ask for help if needed everyone.
Edit: adding the press release
Edit 2: another article says teammates found the body before police, off of cougfan.com
For some people college can be a very isolating experience. And feeling that way while being surrounded by seemingly extroverted and happy people causes you to feel even more isolated and alone.
Now, I don't know if this was true for Tyler, but I struggled with depression, anxiety, and unending peer pressure all through college. Every year I almost called it quits and had episodes of self destructive behavior. It wasn't until I graduated and was out of that environment that I actually started feeling comfortable in my own skin. Sometimes people get lost in college, and I feel terrible that Tyler took his life for whatever demon was tormenting him.
RIP from a UW Dawg
Just came here to post those links as well. Porter also had a tweet that was deleted saying that it was suicide. Hopefully none of this is true, but with Ryan tweeting too it seems to be true.
From Pullman PD
Pullman PD has confirmed the suicide of Tyler Hilinski https://twitter.com/StefanieLoh/status/953477651489996801
Sounding more like a suicide. This is so sad, I feel for the family.
Wow. This hits hard.
I grew up with Tyler. We played little league together. I’m beyond shocked
He was going to be so successful. He was so talented, espescially on the football field.
Why suicide? He was always so happy
This transcends cfb, much love to everyone that knew him in any way. RIP brother.
