Hey everyone, hope you're having a good day! Unfortunately, we've had to lock this thread due to excessive rule 2 and 3 violations.
Curious about the facebook comment about his AP Govt teacher stroking his own ego. Is the teacher on the board?
Man I kinda wanted to hear what the council would have to say
I work in Artesia. A few years ago they had this idea to create a shopping/retail/restaurant island on Pioneer Blvd. So in the middle of that was a 4-5 lane street, they built a curb in the shape of a large street island hoping that someone would build there. It was ridiculous. It became a single lane on each side with a weird blocked off space in the middle of the road. No one ever built there and they recently got rid of it. City managers seem very impulsive and have this idea that Artesia is DTLA. These apartment complexes fit the same mold.
This is a once in a decade opportunity.
You signed off on the same project 3 years ago, so no.
It's so nice to see a teenager being aware of the city progress and being able to put up a wall of questions for the council.
If only we are able to create a world of no corruption.
I love how the tone of the crowd changes when he mentions that the company they gave both bids to was created a month before being granted bid number one. The whole crowd is like "wow that is super shady".
Any update or rebuttal on this?
EDIT: I get it everyone, it's a common practice. I don't need 20 more replies telling me this. Sorry for my ignorance
He's killing out there. It's like he's the Jerry Seinfeld of city council meetings.
"What's the deal with Artesia2, where's that whole thing going"
"Oh, are you mowing the lawn at Artesia1? That's... *Productive*"
I love how he threw shade at his AP Gov teacher at the last second.
“HEY! AND FUCK YOU MR. ARNOLD! STACY “FROM THE BLOCK” JOHNSON OBVIOUSLY DOESN’T KNOW ABOUT SOCIO-ECONOMIC RELATIONS IN THE SOUTHEAST U.S. CAN YOU PLEASE TEACH ME SOMETHING!”
I'm guessing one or more of the council members have a stake in the construction company that is in charge of these projects.
