it's beautiful.... unless you look at the ground
Because the pace of graphics improvement has slowed and it was a good looking game once the high-res textures were released.
The Blood Moon rises once again. Please be careful, Link
Because it got a remaster not so long ago.
will always be 1 of the greatest games ever made, but i need an elder scrolls 6 in my life
NO!! Stop saying skyrim is beautiful! If bethesda hears that they'll make use wait longer for ES6.
Played this game for the first time last year. Just walking around this world was so magical...can't wait to go back and do the DLC
That's what happens when you focus almost entirely on the environment and pay little attention to the story. Which is fine, modders can add to it and it is a gorgeous world to explore. They just didn't give much reason to want to.
Because most other companies can make more money by just releasing a generic game with childish graphics to the mindless hordes.
After playing more recent games, I can't seem to get back into Skyrim. I tried over 100 mods to make it look better, and added in new items and quests and whatnot, but it just isn't the same for me anymore. I get that due to limitations of that time they weren't exactly capable of creating Horizon Zero Dawn or Monster Hunter World types of combat, but that combat just feels so boring now. Back then it was amazing, now it just feels like everyone wants to throw themselves at your sword, at running speed, and that is so immersion breaking to me, especially when you take into account that you are a world known Dragonborn, yet every idiot with a sword apparently hasn't gotten the memo.
The game still looks decent, mods make it look better, and I can understand why people would still like the game quest and lore-wise (I *loved* the lore in that game), but the lackluster combat just kills it for me. I can't seem to get my mind to move past that aspect of the game.
Now, let's compare this game to [Horizon Zero Dawn](https://playstationhax.xyz/forums/topic/3505-10-breathtaking-horizon-zero-dawn-screenshots/
). HZD is beautiful, Skyrim is definitely showing it's age.
