12470 TooShiftyForYou The orangutan looks like he's genuinely getting a kick out of this.

3381 KThingy I know this probably won't be seen, but I want to share this because I think it fits, and it's another example of what amazing creatures orangutans are. When I was just a little guy (4 or 5 maybe) my grandma took me to an animal park called Marine World Africa USA. It was kind of a Sea World place with killer whales, seals, parrots, and tons of other animals that would perform shows, or just chill in their exhibits. Sometimes they would do things like walk porcupines through the park, or let the orangutans play on a big, beefy wooden swing set. I was standing near the swing set, watching the orangutans play, when one of them accidently hit his head while swinging on a rope. Little me thought this was the height of comedy, and began laughing uncontrollably. The orangutan heard this, and immediately swiveled its head towards me and stared intently for a moment. It reached its arm out and pushed off the swing set, creating enough momentum to start swinging again, and bonk his head for the second time. He then immediately turned to me to watch my reaction. As it wasn't an less funny the second time, I started laughing again. This happened over, and over. When I stopped laughing, he'd push off the swing set and bonk his head again, then watch my reaction. It was the first time I can remember feeling a real connection to an animal, and it was an incredibly powerful one. This beautiful, powerful, intelligent animal, enjoying the amusement of a child of a different species. Almost 20 years later, I still consider this a seminal moment in my childhood, and because of those few moments these amazing apes have always held a big spot in my heart.
11520 brijjen It took me longer than i'd like to admit to realize that this is an upside down orangutan, and not an absolutely ginormous giraffe head resting on a ledge
