This is the sequel we needed, but not the one we deserved.
We got what we deserved.
This is badass enough to make me not care about what a real light saber would do to that guy's leg, head, and lamp.
I'm old I don't care.
This video was 15 seconds long. In that 15 seconds, there were two cuts: the cut to the antagonist's reaction, and the cut back to the main fight scene a second or so later. Look at how much visual and gut impact the scene has, how pumped you feel from watching it.
Compare that to any fight scene - *any* fight scene - from a Bourne film, or a Taken film, or frankly just about any action film in the last 10-15 years. No exaggeration, the average rate of cuts would be more than one per second, and some scenes (like, say, Liam Neeson climbing a fucking fence) might average 2-3 per-second.
I think it's disorienting and sucks all the impact and emotional force from a scene, by making it impossible to understand who is where and what they're doing. It becomes nothing but a series of flashing images with little connection to one another (continuity) and no story told via the action - in fact, the story stops when the action starts, and picks up again when the fight is over. They're rote, choreographed and strobed scenes that try to wring an emotional reaction out of you rather than inspiring one.
It obviously helps that Bruce Lee was so incredible, but I'm pretty sure Matt Damon et al. have some pretty incredible moves (and stunt doubles) as well. Why do we neuter their performances? I don't get it.
If two guys show up for a battle with the same color lightsaber, is it super awkward?
Well there you go Disney. If this isn't next you've failed.
"I NEED GOPHER CHUCKS"
Great, now I want every Bruce Lee movie to be remastered with light sabers and banthas.
A more elegant movie, from a more civilized time.
This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
He'd be cutting his body Everytime.
The only thing stupider than sword chucks... laser sword chucks... Fighter would be pleased.
This is great. What film is the original scene in?
I would very much like a lightsaber/whip that the First Order developed to be able to grab Jedi lightsabers.
