Judgement Day has been averted. John Connor is now an adult, a CEO of a large technology company. Having lost his only father figure as a child, he now has daddy issues. In an attempt to remedy this, he starts an AI project to create an artificial dad, to retake the role of his father. Played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Robo Dad comes to life and helps John Connor with family issues, providing support and passing wisdom.
John's mother, Sarah Connor, finds out that this has been created and believes that this will bring about Judgement Day. She stops at nothing to *TERMINATE* the Robo Dad. Sarah Connor is... **the terminator**.
Kyle Maclachlan should be a new Terminator.
Other than a paycheck I fail to see what would attract a director to the franchise at this point.
Pass, still want The Sarah Connor Chronicles back over this.
Wish this was set on the future. No more past.
Salvation hurt my interest in the franchise and Genysis outright killed it. They destroyed the timeline in some of the ugliest retconning I've seen in a piece of fiction. That and Arnold is just too god damn old for this franchise and I have no interest seeing anyone else play the titular character.
Sometimes franchises just have to die. It would be nice if The Terminator is the first one, in a long time, where Hollywood realizes that notion.
I still want to see where Genysis was going plot wise, not that it was a good film but I hate being left on a cliffhanger.
What I think is really good about this is that I know that Tim Miller is someone who might actually fucking care about the franchise. I feel like every other Terminator movie after T2 was directed by someone who had no passion for it.
