Ok everyone just FYI, Netflix didn't make the film they simply got the right for international distribution from Japan.
Similar to how Netflix got the international distribution for Star Trek Discovery from CBS

Not to downplay this movie, but of all the things that were neither important or necessary, why did they put that much attention into Ed’s hair? They’re trying a little too hard. He looks like a typical cosplay.

This is one of the few series to have a legitimate excuse to "whitewash" the cast, but it has Japanese actors. I know it was made in Japan and Netflix is only producing, yada yada, but that fact is still funny to me.
