All I want to know is if Tommy himself believes that Franco sold his part.
"... and also maybe Johnny is vampire."
Fucking perfect. For those who don't know, this was a real subplot that Wiseau considered including. Johnny is also a vampire with a flying car.
I saw this at the Toronto Film Festival last night. Even though I've never seen The Room, it was incredible. Franco completely disappears into that role, and a great supporting cast make for one of the strangest, funniest, cringiest movies I've seen all year.
edit: Corrected spelling of "role" because I can't words good.
I really like the angle they're going with this. Wiseau isn't necessarily portrayed as just a two-dimensional meme; from what I've heard about the book, he possessed this sort of idealised view of Hollywood which was kind of sweet. Wasn't that confident in Franco's Wiseau from the teaser, but he looks like he nails it here.
This had me so much more confident in the performances than the first trailer - looks like Franco nails it. And wow, they absolutely nailed the set design. Looks hilarious, I really cannot wait.
Okay, this does actually looks like it could be both funny as hell and a good film overall.
I'm hoping for some of that Ed Wood magic.
Definitely looks a lot more emotional than I thought it was going to be! I was a little worried they would skip a lot of the tough material from the book and go for a straight comedy but that doesn't look like the case at all. Very excited.
Wow, such a great trailer.
The brief shot of Tommy crying at the premiere really hit hard, plus that 'you are tearing me apart Lisa!' was spot on!
I'm so glad I have this new trailer as my best friend and I lovelisasomuch.
This is best trailer ever! cheep cheep cheep
I laughed so hard at the Sex Scene.
It is going to be ironic if this movie got nominated for an Oscar.
