What the fuck? He was clearly not even close to her or her gun in this video. If there is some other video that proves otherwise, I'd love to see it, because from the video I saw, she killed a man for no reason.
wasn't he free on bail and she was trying to take him back into custody? I just starting reading about this incident today, but was he fleeing because she was trying to wrongly imprison him or something?
How do you shoot someone in the back if you’re wrestling for a gun?
I’m surprised it wasn’t ruled a suicide.
> She said she beat Williams to the gun and turned to fire just as he was going out the window.
That man was not going for her gun according to the video. It's getting really hard to defend the police if shit like this keeps happening
I think the problem is they tried her for 1st degree murder instead of 2nd or manslaughter
Watching the video, it's clear she didn't even give the tiniest of fucks about murdering him. To her, it was waste disposal.
We need to bring back the old western movies. The rules are clear there. First one to draw is the attacker, and never shooting anyone in the back. There's no way that a shot in the back is defensive. I'm sure there are a lot of other rules as well.
This is thoroughly annoying. I would love to have a requirement that jurors record their reasons for deciding how they did.
>Carey testified Williams attempted to grab her gun before fleeing out her office window. She said she beat Williams to the gun and turned to fire just as he was going out the window. She shot Williams in the back.
When you look at this: https://youtu.be/i6gE0iMZ1WU?t=136
- You see the son CASUALLY walk up, and then you see the mother turn around and fire.
- No battling for any kind of gun.
- She was able to EXTEND her arms completely to fire the shot. That makes no sense unless NO danger (back and other person is occupied with something else like getting through the window) or the person is far away enough that instinct/training/whatever (firing in the gun range) takes over and she performs that movement.
I'm trying to look up what is the crime that he is skipping out on his bail for. I found that the bail is for $35k, and this lady basically needs that money from the dude. For what charge though, since him skipping on bail is potentially skipping out on justice for whatever crime? I don't know what it is but just from first stab at it, a 35k bond is not for something serious (like murder), but for a sexual crime, property crime?
Either way, does NOT justify that. Why we actually have courts and skipping bail is part of the risk. That risk is not to be handled by a lady locking up a dude with her son. Also, what could that 19 year old help his mom with?
> She told jurors she was afraid Williams was going to shoot Henderson and that he tried to grab her gun before fleeing out her third-floor office window at Signature Bail Bonds in Stillwater, reported The Oklahoman.
>**'I was scared. I'm not used to being in violent situations, like at all,' the defendant told the court from the stand on Thursday.**
>Carey said she beat Williams to the gun, turned it on him as he fled and shot him in the back. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Even if she got off on the murder charge she should still be charged for the lying.
Fuck this cunt.
