Not being mentioned in the comments so far: the defense is willing to plead guilty for ***34*** consecutive life sentences, as long as the prosecutors drop the death penalty.
Make of that what you will.
Am I the only one who thinks we should take tragedies like this and have scientists examine these people and try and gain some level of understanding as to what makes someone capable of such a thing rather than just killing them. I understand people want justice, but if we want to ever get to the bottom of any issue like this I think we need some level of understanding and that can’t happen if we just make it disappear as more of these people with the same issues keep emerging and the problem is growing. I know it’s easier said than done but I don’t think we should let emotions get in the way of potential solutions. We need to know what turns a human into a monster not just make them disappear.
I'm not really prodeath penalty, there are probably less than 5% of murders where I think to myself "I'm glad we have a death penalty in this country". However if you're going to have a death penalty, 17 deaths in a mass shooting should qualify for it with ease otherwise a death penalty is pointless.
A quick death is too good for him. They should save some money and let him rot in supermax
Execution just creates a martyr for the false-flag morons and any other nutcases who would follow his lead. Far better to simply let him rot in jail, and more cost effective as well.
