I was listening to the radio interviewing the head of prisons here in Houston over how they dealt with the evacuation of Harvey. I was quite impressed to hear that sex offenders not allowed in proximity of kids are required as part of the parole terms to specify how they will evacuate / shelter during a hurricane or similar. Such evacuation / shelter plans must comply with the restrictions. And during Harvey the parole officers were in contact with those evacuating to ensure compliance.
That is, however, something for the parole officers to do - not something the police overseeing the shelters should take upon themselves as a role.
I wonder what the odds are for him being pardoned in case of conviction for "doing his job"
Good. Let's stop America from becoming an oppressive and tyrannical state, regardless of how much racists pressure us to do so.
This is why our founding fathers established Constitutional guarantees for "any person" in the United States, not just American citizens.
They were just checking for warrants/sex offender status. If i was staying in a shelter with my family id feel safer knowing that i wasnt next to a felon or pedophile.
