> On Friday Mr Hoekstra finally admitted to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that he had made the remarks, to a right wing gathering in the US, and said he was "shocked" by them.
He was shocked by his own statements?
Being shocked by your own statements is some Zaphod Beeblebrox-level shit. Keep this guy away from starships.
He was so wrong that he shocked himself, apparently. What a fuckwit.
You have to commend the Dutch journalist here. They refused to let this issue go until the truth came out...and the truth finally came out. They refused to give him a podium for his other messages until he copped to the truth. It seems like a no brainier: everyone knew it was bullshit but the ambassador wouldn't admit it. Were it not for the perseverance of these journalists, he never would have admitted his mistake.
This happens daily with the Trump administration. Let's hope our journalists can stay the course like the Dutch did.
How is this moron even qualified to be an ambassador? Can a country refuse an ambassador from another country?
I'm Dutch myself but living abroad and seeing all those journalists go "This is not how this works, you have to answer the question" made me feel very proud!
Man, these far-right guys sure do have a large victim complex. In here he says he was "Shocked" by what he heard.
Bruh, it was your own voice. It's like watching my dog fart, only for him to turn around real fast trying to see who just made that noise.
" I was pandering to my base, it's how we win elections in non-shithole countries."
How is he even an ambassador for the US?.
