I find this one of the most frightening forms of person-to-person violence. It's just horrific. Imagine not being able to identify yourself in the mirror any longer. How depressed and isolated you must feel if this happens to you? Not to mention it can jeopardize your eyesight. Absolutely heinous.
That's just over 1.5 years per conviction, for an attack that can and does cause 'life-changing injuries'.
Did anyone else follow the link to the [*other*](http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-42411108
) trial that judge presided over?:
> A man who threw acid across a packed London nightclub injuring 22 people has been jailed for 20 years.
> Arthur Collins, the ex-boyfriend of reality TV star Ferne McCann, threw the corrosive substance at revellers in Mangle E8 in Dalston on 17 April.
> The 25-year-old admitted throwing the liquid but had claimed he believed it was a *date rape drug*.
What a prick.
They should not even have thought about giving this fuck a plea deal if he didn't want to rat his friend out
> 21:30 - Liquid is splashed in the face of a 69-year-old moped driver at the junction of Penny Brookes Street and De Coubertin Street in Stratford. The victim flees but is chased by John and his accomplice along several streets before he is able to get away
People who prey on and attack the elderly deserve a special kind of hell
10.5 years seems disproportionate little compared to what the victims have to suffer for the rest of their lives.
I can agree with this sentence if he had given up his accomplice. if he "didn't understand the gravity of it" and now he does, why is he staying silent? not buying it. I would have told the guy twenty years, and let him know that he would have gotten ten if he had given up his accomplice.
This news made me feel sick. I actually felt sick to my stomach. Those poor people just trying to go about life have some sociopath attack them. I'm so sorry to say this but 10 years is not enough for this person and who was helping him? I hope they are removed from our lives.
Lived in London for the past five years - people back home always ask me whether I feel scared day-to-day, coz of 'terrorism' etc. etc.
But THIS SHIT terrifies the living balls off me.
But he didn't give up his accomplice, strange how that works why not hold him in contempt of court indefinitely until he does. I don't think we should just accept, oh well that's gangster ethos, we have to understand oh well nothing we can do there. How can that be?
I don't think any prison term would make a difference though, even if he got 80 years without parole, I strongly doubt that it would deter people like him from committing crimes like that in the future. Looks like london police needs to seriously up their game.
