Immigrant taken by ICE from Austin courthouse was killed in Mexico
148 John_Lennon_Was_Here Would this be a story if the motel reported any other type of wanted criminal?
49 Background_Guy Is illegal immigrant a protected class now? What happened to a private business being able to chose who they want to do business with?
77 Sagacity06 Good. I support motel six in reporting any and all criminals.
12 Ovi_is_a_spy Damn this whole thread is just like 3 people going at it. Kiss already
16 LoneGhostOne While I like that they are trying to help ICE, I dislike the idea that they're handing the names of EVERYONE staying for no reason. If it was something like anyone who could not provide photo ID, I'd be understanding, but sending everyone's name is too much of a privacy concern.
17 Another-Chance I would encourage Motel 6 employees to report wage violations, hiring illegals to clean rooms, corporate fraud, tax evasion, etc from their company as well. Don't just go after low hanging fruit - get the real criminals in the US behind bars.
3 zavatone Yeah, so obeying the law is now a bad thing?
10 geezergamer Plenty of violent criminals sneak into the US from Mexico.
6 jim_okc You mean "illegal aliens".
2 abelikesapples I don't want to sound mean but how do you check most Mexican names against a list, they seem really close to each other.
2 unitsofwhat These are the types of situations that can really, really fuck us up if we over react. Should we either: 1) Get riled up, call our senators, write letters, and make a new law prohibiting businesses from using their own property how they see fit? or 2) Just. Don't. Go. To. Hotels. That. Do. This. They are doing nothing "wrong" in my eyes, even though I don't agree with it.
3 dickfromaccounting You can't be selective about the criminals you choose to pursue in a Motel 6...
