It's probably just as pervasive in the modeling industry as in Hollywood. And then when you consider a lot of these models start off as teens and thus were likely minors when in the US, it's just sickening.
Anyone know why it's male models that are targeted? Why them? Why male models?
Interesting to see how David Bailey's career is viewed in the current climate. For those who don't know, he was a celebrity fashion photographer from the 60s at the heart of "swinging London". In fact, the cheeky photographer part of the Austin Powers character was very much based on him and his "exploits" with models. In other words, he very openly slept with just about every model he worked with, which I assume today would be considered abuse due to the power dynamic.
Were they willing and active participants who were happy to sleep with this renowned artist to further their career? I'm sure most were. Though I'm sure there are many who worked with him before he had this reputation or some who were in relationships and didn't want it at all. There's also the chance that his behaviour was actually a lot darker than we know. Who knows, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's the next one in the spotlight.
So why did they report this to the press and social instead of the police?
Let's be mature enough not to imagine that these are all cases of powerful predators preying on innocent, weeping victims. Does anyone really believe that none of the models thought they could get ahead by seducing the superstar photographer? Really?
It's high time we all just grew up a bit. These are serious allegations and should be treated as such. Treat them as smutty gossip fit only for HuffPo and the papers and of course no one will take them seriously.
This is the funniest article I’ve read in a while. “He stuck his fingers in my mouth”.
I probably wouldn’t let a female sexual partner stick her fingers in my mouth. What is another grown man doing letting another grown man do that? Must have liked it. He didn’t bite them off? That’s consent enough for me.
