Dear OP, I went to sonar school with your brother and when he passed it was felt by all in the community. I'm sorry for your loss.
He died the day after his birthday? My condolences.
Sorry for your loss, dying due to command incompetence is a shitty way to go.
If you don't mind me asking, what has the USN done in terms of recompense above the standard death payout?
My little brother was on the Fitz as well, he knew your brother OP. I’m so sorry for your loss and may he Rest In Peace . Your brother was a hero.
Edit: spelling. Apologize, using my phone.
And now his watch is ended.
He was far too young to die; that he died due to incompetence is a crime. My wishes of love to your family.
Dear OP, this is the first time I’ve posted since being on reddit, and it’s been a little over 5 years. This is the one thing that makes me feel the need to post. I was on the ship with your brother. Even though I didn’t know him well, I still encountered him everyday. He was quiet, kind, and always made me feel comfortable being around him, which is hard to achieve. I truly hope you can start healing. Just know from all of the Fitz crew, we miss them immensely and will continue all of the 7’s legacy as best we can. We love you.
I'm sorry man...this hits home way to hard. I was on the fitz brother ship John S McCain. From what I know how we lost 10 of our friends, none of them are forgotten. I wish these collisions never happened, for you the most, their love ones. I picture my mom, brother, nieces, and fiancee and I can't imagine the pain. I may not be a religious man, but i know your brother has to be in a better place.
