Ironically alot of those books are about how shitty their countries are.
Did I miss something? I thought he just said shithole countries in general and then singled out Haiti....Helen Oyeyemi is British and lives in Prague....
So in order to create this table someone had to posit to themselves, “What are the shithole countries.”
Oh the irony. I'll say right now, I hate Trump, and won't defend him. That being said, he called Haiti and African countries "shitholes", so for this bookstore to include Malala/Khaled Hosseini/etc. on the table is the bookstore saying "Well these places are probably shitholes too".
I'm sure Malala is immensely proud of the country she came from.
Those aren't lightweight books either. Exit West is so damn good, and boy is it ever relevant.
It's too bad I don't see Things Fall Apart. That's always been one of my favorites.
I've been to some of those countries and they are shitholes.
It's a good idea. Tough times can create extraordinary circumstances. Being from "shithole countries" is more of a reason to listen to them, so that humanity as a whole can learn from its mistakes.
“What is not yours is not yours”. Is this a guide against socialism?
OK I'm getting tired of this "shithole" thing already. Almost as bad as covfefe.
So the bookstore agrees with trump
I hope you guys do realize he is right. Those countries are indeed shitholes.
Anyone who is out of the loop on the latest Trump tweets is going to be wildly offended.
Hey, I see my country... and yes, it is a sh**hole!
So one well respected person from a country means we should accept all immigrants from said country?
Too bad those countries are actually very shitty. That's why most people flee from there and illegally enter western countries.
