This is heartbreaking, I am guessing it is cartel-related? Or is it just something common in the region?
This has been going on so long, I sometimes wonder if the police WANT to solve it.
This is extremely sad.
Gangs are crazy active and the police are corrupt and can not do anything if you try to report them. Many times gangs will demand large sums of money every week equalling more than what a household makes that week. If they don't pay they get killed.
That's why people illegally (by paying a guide or getting a legal one day shopping visa and never leave) come to the USA. If they wanna come legally it can take YEARS (we are currently working on applications from the late 90s). I found this chart helpful for understanding why coming legally is impossible: https://reason.org/files/a87d1550853898a9b306ef458f116079.pdf
Police can't do anything about the gangs and women are afraid to work cause going to and from work they can get raped and/or killed. So family's starve because they are super poor while their kids are forced to join gangs or be killed.
Source: I did a border immersion trip in college. I went to El Paso and Juarez and talked to legals, illegals, border patrol, lawyers, people who work to give people a place to sleep and eat, etc.
Edit: More details and web link for more info.
This is powerful, but I do have a question. Why only women? Is there something specific about these murders?
They should do something like this in Chicago
