>Linden, a 34-year-old who lives in Michigan, wowed commentators when she waited for Shalane Flanagan while her teammate made a quick toilet break 45 minutes into the race.
Pretty awesome show of sportsmanship.
Went today—weather was horrific so her victory is all the more impressive. So happy for her and proud of all the badasses running through unreal rain.
Good for her!! We had a lot of people who had to drop out due to near hypothermia at the 13th mile, Congrats to all who finished and good luck to all who are gonna try again next year!
Definitely not trying to undermine her amazing feat. She’s an amazing person with endurance to kill... but lord does she have the legs to match it. They look flawless!
I went to elementary school with her!
As well as being a badass runner, she's also an awesome person!
To clarify the distinction here is American then grouped by women. The winning man's time was faster. I'm only clarifying because the way the title was worded led me to believe she was the overall winner, which she was not. Still awesome on her, that's amazing =)
I'm so confused. What happened to the Japanese guy?
Also the men’s winner was the first non East African(all Ethiopian and Kenyan besides one Eritrean American) to win in 28 years.
Edit: Turns out the 2001 winner was South Korean
