I once joked that in the future the CW would have a DC show on every night of the week, forgetting that they don't do Sundays.
I think there's a good chance Supernatural will air on Sundays this fall. The CW has been using that show to fix its tough slots for years. It's aired multiple seasons on four different nights and no matter where they air it or how often they move it, the show always does really well. Supernatural could be the perfect way for them to establish Sunday.
I would honestly like to know how much do these shows make in merchandising and at cons. Sure, they are low rated shows compared to other networks. But you go into any place that sells fandom related things and their stuff is all over the place. And more importantly, IT SELLS. Especially Supernatural stuff. The fandom for these shows have deep pockets and money that burns holes in them.
How little does CW need to rely on getting advertisers when they sell so much merch? That's what I want to know.
That explains why they have already picked up something like 9 different pilot shows this year. They’ll need the options to help them expand their programming.
This likely means five more seasons minimum for Supernatural.
I hope this is good news for Wayward Sisters. Really rooting for that show.
Fun Fact : CW's tv ratings are doubled and tripled on their app. The TV ratings don't matter too them at all.
Ugh, finally. Every other channel has three hour nights as well as weekends. The CW having two hours and only on weeknights just never made since.
