I so wanted to like Electric Dreams given the talent involved, I really did, but it just didn't click with me at all. I enjoyed The Commuter and Impossible Planet, but other episodes left me feeling cold and even bored at times, which is not exactly a great sign.
I think the issue for me is that by its very nature, the show is limited by the source material. Don't get me wrong; these are classic stories written by a true master of the genre, but so many of these once groundbreaking concepts have been explored to death over the years and subsequently lost their wow factor.
The virtual reality episode in particular stood out to me as a story that has been covered so, so many times over the years and *better.* It was a real slog to get through.
I realise this can never happen given the entire premise of the show, but the only way I can see a brighter future for the show is by unshackling itself from the source material and thus having total creative freedom to tell compelling stories.
This show really was disapointing. Felt like I have watched it all before and feel like it have been done better before.
The endings are terrible, I like most episodes but the conclusion of most episodes leaves you ticked off.
started on this series, so far black mirror has the edge in storytelling, however the cast in electric dreams is far more exceptional.
I love Philip K Dick and his incredible short stories, watching this show I can't help but feel like they could have been done better
Yeah, saw the trailers, and it looked really cheap compared to "Black Mirror".
