Sounds kinda perfect. I'll miss it tons, it's one of my few favorite shows each year, but capping it at five seasons makes the value of the whole--for people to find or revisit later on streaming platforms--that much greater. I love this show.
I'm glad they're getting a chance to finish the story. Beautifully written and so well acted. I'll miss it when the story is over, but it's SO rewatchable.
They said the show had a five season plan from the beginning. It's nice to see shows end on their own terms instead of being dragged out forever.
I will definitely miss this show - from the writing and acting to the little things, like the narrator's witty comments and the unabashed and realistic use of Spanish (I love that Alba will talk to Jane in Spanish and she'll respond in English - and I think most people who grew up as 2nd or 3rd generation Americans can relate) and the use of telenovela tropes - it's been consistently one of my favorite shows to watch the past few years. Like others have said, it's nice they can end on their own terms, but I wish it could go on.
Jane and also Crazy Ex sound like they're going out still on top, not over staying their welcome.
A really unique show, love it
Smart way to end it. !00 episodes is usually the syndication mark. They can then sell the show to another network for reruns.
I'm so glad we'll get a proper ending that isn't rushed or thrown together in light of a cancellation or actor leaving or whatever, but man I'm still so bummed out. Jane the Virgin is such a gem of a show and I'm not sure I'll be able to find something that replaces the hole it'll inevitably leave once it ends.
It's a show that'll do better in streaming and repeats than first run. I imagine CBS Television will be able to sell the show on quite easily.
with this and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend ending we're inching closer to the dream of an all superhero CW.
