73 OVEIDPTVZSEU it's on some channel called Audience network is why
17 fians4k I have to agree with you, it's a **really** good show, I'm enjoying it a lot. Story is great, performances are very very good, soundtrack is spot-on. I don't think the creators built enough hype about it, and it is a kind of "unknown" series, specially for one based on a Stephen King book.
8 DjangoSpider Yeah the problem is Audience is owned by DirecTV or something so unless you've still got that cable box, you're not watching it. Which is too bad, because I'm really enjoying it. I had heard of the name Mr. Mercedes and had no idea what it was about. It's been great so far.
13 bob_mcbob There is /r/MrMercedesTV but it's pretty dead right now. I'm kind of curious why /r/MrMercedes was banned from Reddit two years ago.
6 scoutsleepes Thank you OP. I didn't even know this show existed. (am in the UK) You are RIGHT. This show is fantastic. Brendon Gleeson is bloody amazing and yes...King rounds out all characters.. Have only watched ep 1 but cannot believe that there isn't more hype about it! Any other shows you can recommend?! lovin your work...
6 MetallicYoshi64 I've been watching it. It's great all around, but the network being exclusive to DirecTV is a real problem for viewership.
5 totem505 I'd like to watch but don't have satellite.
3 savourthesea I think you have to own a special kind of toaster to watch it or something.
3 xeonicus Because it's exclusive to Audience/DirecTV Now, which is AT&T's attempt at pushing into the subscription based streaming TV market after acquiring DirecTV. It's not a major player. ~~They have about 500k subscribers.~~ Compare that to Netflix that has over 100 million. Essentially, it probably hasn't seen a lot of exposure. -Edit- Looks like U-Verse customers may also have Audience network. This would put the number of potential viewers up around 47 million. Maybe U-Verse customers don't realize they have it.
5 FYEAH_StephenKing i think it's because it's not on a well-known network. However, their social media presence is off the charts! check it out FB, Twitter, and IG all at @MrMercedesTV!
2 Banethoth Seen two episodes so far...It's pretty decent. I wouldn't say it's the best, but it's decent.
2 DRLAR It also came almost to the day of the car attack in Barcelona, they don't want to hurt anybody's feelings. (even warns about this at the beginning)
2 spockspeare Because not everyone can get the channel it's on. DirecTV has done some targeted marketing that's bled out of DirecTV properties (they forgot that the Dan Patrick show now airs on NBCSN, for instance) but otherwise, nobody knows about it.
2 sethbergs I've got Directv and have also been following -- it's fantastic. I've enjoyed every minute of it
2 mickeyflinn There isn't more buzz because you have to be a DirectTV Subscriber to watch it.
1 MrCaul I like Gleeson a lot, but I never actually finished the book so not sure I'll really enjoy the show.
1 spacednlost DirecTV. I guarantee we'll see at least some Emmy acting nominations from this next year.
1 Starksista I loved the book and have also read the 2 sequels. I would really love to watch this but can't get the channel. I'm hoping it shows up on Netflix someday
1 RedsDead21 Literally the only place I see this show mentioned is this subreddit, so that probably doesn't help. Has it had any marketing whatsoever?
1 Crazy_Sniffable I'd love to watch it, but, it's not on Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, or a service I can subscribe to via Amazon or Hulu, so...
1 Spectorials I have only watched 1 episode. It was alright but the way his computer was hacked was done in a cartoony way and put me off a bit. Does the show get better?
