I would like to request a tv show where the writing actually feels planned out throughout the series. I get sort of turned off when I'm watching something and it feels like things are being made up on the spot.
I need a new show to watch. I am down for anything.
I have kind of a specific request.
I'm looking for realistic workplace drama series, where the characters' job performance and attempts to be successful (and failures to do so) often drive the story. Best examples I can think of are Mad Men and The Wire. Homicide, The Sopranos, and Friday Night Lights have this to an extent but not as much as I'm looking for. The more grounded, the less melodramatic and hokey, the better.
Really interested to see if anyone has something to add here.
I've seen a little bit of Designated Survivor. Kiefer Sutherland's body language is so drastically different and mesmerizing somewhat, he comes across soft, demure and restrained. Just so weird to see but in a good way because he exercises his range on the show.
American Vandal started out as a pretty basic spoof but evolved into a very compelling story and a great experience overall
**Rotten** Six part documentary on Netflix about food that we eat. Pretty interesting about the lies and corruption that has all but killed the american small farmer. Was fairly entertaining and very educational.
**The Hunt for the Zodiac Killer** Live detective type show still trying to figure out the Zodiac Killer 50 years later. They have been trying to crack his ciphers all this time using the best minds in the world and computers with no luck. A guy sits at home half drunk and cracks it in one evening so thats a decent payoff. I have seen most of the movies and shows on Zodiac and there is never going to be a payoff..so you gotta kinda go into it knowing that. Decent show fairly entertaining.
**The Curse of Oak Island** Been watching this for years, i get very excited when they find a button or piece of wood at this point..there is no reason to watch this show except that I wanna know whats at the bottom of that hole too.
Trying to watch riverdale. Does it get better ? other than PLL I haven't watched any of teen high school type dramas. didn't like PLL.
La Casa De Papel
It's on netflix and it is pretty awesome! If you like heist stories this one is very good. Characters are interesting and the pacing of the show is great. Too much romantic drama maybe but a lot of mystery. It's from spain but you can watch it in english of you dont like subtitles.
Currently watching Halt and Catch Fire and almost at the end of season 01. so far its been quite captivating. i havent felt this way about a tv show in a long time. maybe since breaking bad.
SWAT, with the guy from Criminal Minds is surprisingly good.
The Brave is also decent.
Watched the "rebooted" pilot of Taken, 2x01, seems run of the mill black ops/spy show. Only watched a bit of season 1 but so far the tone seems a lot better.
Here are some of the shows that are currently airing which I think are not receiving enough attention:
The End of The F***ing World
