79 Mx_Silent_Heart Who cares if it’s old news, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is awesome and it needs to be said again. Like you I was hooked in with episode one and upon completing it was a little sad there wasn’t more.
53 Razzler1973 Oddly enough, I am just watching this at the moment and on episode 4. Really enjoying it. The main woman is absolutely tremendous. The hooker from House of Cards, obviously she was ready for a bigger role, excellent in this
19 jay5150 I just finished this series and surprisingly really enjoyed it. I had seen Rachel previously only in House of Cards and it was nice to see her in a whole new persona. EVERY member cast in my opinion was doing stellar work. Everybody hit it out of the park. Tony Shaloub was a standout. Highly recommended!
13 Kitty982 I’m loving it. I’m on episode 7. That said around episode 4, i think, I found she was annoying me a little bit, the episode where she didn’t do stand up. Love the character Abe.
12 212to206 I am so happy it's so good! I completely lost it when Susie entered the department store.
7 Gopokes34 Thought it was great too. Just finished it, it’s sort you making this post because I hadn’t heard anyone talk about it honestly.
7 AKAkorm I enjoyed it because Rachel Brosnahan is absolutely tremendous in it.
4 LikeTotesObvi I liked it. Seemed a little Forrest Gumpian that she's casually friends with Lenny Bruce, but w/e
6 bellestarxo Very outstanding show, nothing else like it currently. -Unique dialogue rhythm and way the characters are choregraphed, it's like you are watching a stage play. -Alex Borstein is incredible. Glad she finally gets a role where she can shine. -Dreamy 50s visuals and costumes. -Rachel Brosnahan & Tony Shaloub also very fun. -Very refreshing in how they are treating the husband character. A lot of shows would take the safe route and make him a total monster. While there is plenty to not like about him, they also show us some scenes where we feel bad for him or even root for him. It makes a much more interesting dynamic between him & Midge.
2 Alect0 I'd never heard of it until I saw it win some golden globes. The plot sounded like nothing I'd be interested in (housewife wants to be a comedian?) but my husband and I tend to give award winners (Golden globes + Oscar contenders) a crack at this time of year so we watched it. Loved it from the first episode, Mrs Maisel and her dad are the funniest characters :) We finished it tonight and are glad there will be a second series. Lots of subtle jokes as well in the normal dialogue outside the stand up too which is nice.
2 CleverZerg How funny is it? Does it provide many laughs?
5 zh1K476tt9pq I watched S1 and I thought it was okay but not outstanding. Rachel Brosnahan (main character), Alex Borstein (woman that runs the bar) and Tony Shalhoub (father of main character) are really good and there are some really funny jokes. However, they sell this as a comedy but it has a lot of drama elements and it didn't like the drama stuff very much. It was kind of boring and I didn't like the ending (especially related to the story about her husband). I am okay with some drama to keep the comedy elements more interesting but every time the show did drama stuff I felt "okay great, now can you please go back the funny stuff?". Also the show wasn't really anything new. It's another show about comedians in New York, and being Jewish in New York, and being some rich, educated person meeting poor, uneducated but likeable people... It kind of felt like I have seen it all before and I always find it bit weird how self-obsessed the industry is, i.e. constantly making shows about being a comedian/actresses. That said, the show is still well done and probably worth watching. It has 80% on metacritic (top 40 in 2017), which seems fair.
1 EggTee Yeah, this show was one of my recent fovorites. It's really fantastic.
1 Oskuri I saw it awhile ago in my Prime Video list but it didn't look much of anything to me at the time but since it did win some Golden Globes that did pique my interest and I'm glad I did, it's clever and funny.
1 dewayneestes We watched the whole thing and it actually got better throughout. And because it was preapproved for a second season the next season won’t feel like some weird bolt on plot device to milk its success.
1 snoopwire Yeah, it's amazing. Very high quality show. I honestly can't remember a single slow spot, is there any? The writing and pacing are just top-notch. Probably the best streamer show yet in my opinion.
1 bigheadinc Friend turned me on to this and I ran through season 1 in like 4 days. So effing good that it hurts. There's a stage adaptation somewhere in there too.
