***Jumper*** (movie with Samuel L. Jackson, Rachel Bilson, Hayden Christiansen)
The Dark tower.
Keep Idriss Elba as the gunslinger, get rid of everything else and start new on HBO or netflix.
Maybe the movie could be a fever dream or something.
A series set in the Stardust or Princess Bride universes top my list.
I know its a book made into a movie but Harry Potter. Way too many things left out or made up (looking at you 6th movie) in the movies. A TV show would do the books justice
"Underworld". That was always my first thought when the original one came out. It would make such an awesome TV show. Such a deep world to explore. The rest of the movies, while fun, were disappointing and never lived up to the promise of the first.
Gimme that District 9 TV show where we follow like half a dozen humans in South Africa as they go through their lives.
I just desperately need a series about a down on his luck chocolateer and genius who takes a job in South America working for ex-nazis creating a slave class addicted to something as simple as chocolate.
I also have three spec scripts in the can but that's beside the point.
Hot fuzz. A buddy cop show placed in a quiet country english town with odd residents. Each season they solve a case, anything from cannibal butchershop to the vampiric recluse aristocrat living in the country manor.
And In Bruges. A dark comedy that follows the two hitmen gleeson and farrels character as they kill their targets.
It set up a pretty interesting superhero series by giving an awesome origin story. It would be cool to see how the other characters continue their development into more powerful beings, provided they can come up with a way to bring 2 of the 3 back.
True Lies. We'll never get a sequel, but I'd love to see those two characters working together as a couple.
And how they make it work as a family. It'd be like if The Americans was directed by James Cameron.
A Scott Pilgrim mini-series of 7-8 episodes where he basically deals with one evil ex per episode would be really awesome. That being said, Scott Pilgrim is perfect and I don't want to see it get remade in any format.
**Cracks** would've made a great tv series but only with the same actresses at the same age they were back then.
they would also need to add more plots to make it longer... but that setting, oh boi i'd love to see that setting, visuals and cast again.
Warcraft. I fully expect that the film was conceived and in the works before this golden era of television began, but I cannot see how a film series would do this universe justice. The narratives are long and involve many characters, perfect for TV, a challenge for cinema.
A long time ago, there was some talk about a show set in the Riddick universe that centered around the character Kyra and her adventures between *Pitch Black* and *The Chronicles of Riddick*. That show, which was announced to be in development by The Sci-fi Channel all the way back in 2004, ultimately got scrapped, but I wouldn't mind seeing another attempt at a TV Show set in this universe. I just don't know how well it would work without Vin Diesel or David Twohy being a part of it.
Wickerman could be a good miniseries, now that you mention it.
But with the decline in the bee population it might be difficult to pull off.
They butchered the Percy Jackson movies, i think a tv show would be amazing and they could really do the books justice.
Eragon (2006) deserves a second shot and I think In Time (2011) could work as a tv show as well.
Personally, I think they should have green lit the Van Helsing tv show that they wanted to do years ago. I think it would have been a fun, kind of cheesy, but potentially horrifying action series.
Speaking of movies that deserve a second chance: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Imagine a plup action comedy series that pokes fun at old tropes from 1930's golden age adventure comics and radio drama, all while being a celebration about why we loved those kinds of stories so much? who else would've have loved to the **The Amazing Adventures Of Sky Captain**?
If I can't get Wanted 2, I'd like a series based on the plot
