When you think words your vocal chords respond even if you aren’t vocalizing. Is that what they’re referring to?
Hmmm. So what about the voices that my schizophrenic aunt hears that belong to a policeman she encountered years ago, her ex boyfriend, and a made up FBI agent?
Those aren’t her voices.
Ahh, it has to do with the brains ability to identify a voice as their own. Schizophrenia makes this impossible for them.
This is such a fascinating topic. I would never expect the inner monologue to actually affect my vocal chords. So these muscles are contracting whenever I am thinking to myself? Now, possibly a stupid question, would any of this apply in the case of dreaming? Does anyone know where I can get more information on this topic?
