I didn’t know I could meet a quality man if I just extended the 5 second rule. New dating strategy.
They say dinner parties are hell. The conversation is forced, the food is bad, and the wine is cheap. But dad, I met someone at one in one of the least likely situations. A young rum cake came into my life. Once it was vibrant and full of promise, but by the time it came across my table, there wasn't much I could do. Gravity is hell dad, and this rum cake looked like it had been drug across half of Korea. I want you to know, I ate that rum cake, and created an unlikely bond with a young woman who was brave enough to do the same. I love you dad.
P.s. Frank is an idiot.
Edit: a word
Edit2: Gilded! Humbled. This show was one of my earliest memories watching with my parents, who both knew every episode by heart. Glad to see so many have awesome memories as well!
TIL I could have married Alan Alda. I mean... If I wasn't already married, born after this incident happened, and a dude... But still... Never don't eat floor cake...
The man's a treasure, and he was born for the role of Hawkeye.
From what I've seen of him in interviews and what he brings to the roles he plays, I'm not surprised that he'd be the kind of person to find and stay true to his mate for the whole of his life.
Funny enough he was also given the title of honorary woman for his women's rights work.
Not surprising for someone who's eaten a river of liver and an ocean of fish.
When I was in the Canadian Forces, our bus driver looked and sounded exactly like Alan Alda. This was about 10 years ago, and I'm not talking about a young Alan Alda. He looked like everyday old man Alan Alda. I never actually said it to him, but everyone agreed.
He called my line at a travel company and I helped him to rent a car in France. Economy, Ford Fiesta. I said “name?” He said “Alan Alda” I said “oh like the actor!!” “ yup, that’s me” we had a great conversation and he was a really nice dude
My parents met at the front door of a party because the drugs came out and they both immediately decided to leave. So it's kind of the same, but with less fun.
Sounds like my kind of marriage.
Love him. Always thought he was an incredible dude.
Hey, sometimes you just know. That’s adorable that they’ve kept their marriage going for 60 years, especially being an actor that adds like +10 difficulty.
