When the movie was released it was banned in Norway. (Blasphemic)
In Denmark when it was released on VHS the cover said "the movie so funny that it was forbidden in Norway"
Not so much a working title as an inspirational idea, judging from the article.
> However, as Jones points out, they all realised that “Christ was a very good bloke, saying a lot of very good things that we all agreed with. Humour wasn’t in Christ at all.”
Fun fact, I know a guy from Alabama who still refuses to watch this movie because he believes it would turn him atheist
I heard the true, original title was to have been "Brian of Nazareth."
Torbay Council only lifted their ban on it in 2008.
Or the other always un popular Monty Python title for Life of Brian, “Stop giving away your time and hard earned money to phonys and shysters.”
Not true, this was an off the cuff remark by Eric idle when asked by a reporter at the holy grail premiere what their next film would be. It's possible this played a part in inspiring them to go on and create life of Brian, but it wasn't a working title of the film.
