75 GSSubmarine This video really hits close to home. My dad had to get a heart transplant before I was born, and he passed off the genes that gave him the disease that caused the need for the transplant to my little sister.
Let me tell you, the Doctors at the children's hospitals are just the best people in the world. I can't imagine what it might be like to go through so much but still try their hardest to make life livable to the kids who stay there.
I can still remember when the doctors had just told my dad that we should consider making the 7 hour trip to head home and bring my sister's cat for a visit, because they didn't think she had all that much time left.
I can still remember when the news came in that we had received a donor heart
And I can still remember walking with her as she was being sedated before going in for the surgery
I can still remember when she was happy and smiling again as we went home.
And I can still remember the huge party we threw when my dad and my sister came into the driveway
98 IWantAKitty Can anyone explain to me why people are against organ donation? I’ve never understood why people have a problem with it and choose not to be donors.
36 Frank4010 They are also going to have somebody from accounting dressed as Darth Vader deliver the hospital bill.
12 utohs Holy Balls that was heartwarming
6 everfalling are his feet blue? is that part of the heart condition?

3 Lawboy93950 So wonderful and I can’t help but think about another grieving family who in the loss of their loved one were brave and strong enough to remember to give the gift of life to this young boy. Tears all around!
3 dt_vibe It's a joyous moment here, but also remember that it is a tragedy somewhere else.
2 TheGoddamnPacman I guess you're automatically an organ donor when you don't let the Wookiee win
