One of Mr. Roger's subtle, yet most powerful statements ever, took place in 1974. He asks 'Officer' Clemons to join him to soak their feet in some pool water on a hot day and then helped him dry his feet. Years earlier many pools were off limits to black Americans.

47 0ffGrid I have seen this all over social media the past few days. I can't tell if I really dig it, or it really annoys me. It is something though.

45 clashbuster I like it but if this was on the radio for the next 5 months I would blow my brains out.
13 TB-4 I'm fascinated by this because it's blowing up, but seems really polarizing, and also I don't get what people are seeing in it. The lyrics could be dismissed as very surface level or cliche in a different context. It's like, trying to be confessional but doesn't do anything new or actually embarrassing or subversive or interesting. I'm just like "yep." It still feels guarded because it's framed around this weird irony and like, performative aspect of the way he talks and presents himself. So, you have a mediocre slam poet, over some guitar that sounds like early modest mouse which is.. fiiine... and this cringey like "Lol scones am I right, I'm a rapper I'm not a rapper I don't care about the rules" kind of attitude. Is it the delivery, the video? Why? I think this is kind of bad. It comes across as manufactured and just kind of nothing. I don't know what I'm supposed to take away from it. I was not moved. Honestly, I don't know. People are acting like this is some kind of super emotional, resonant art, and it's honestly upsetting to me. Everything here has been done way better.
10 EnWhySea This is probably the most polarizing song I've ever seen lol. Some people love it to death, some (and seemingly most) hate the shit out of it. I like it, don't love it. But god damn some of you have very strong feelings about this kid and his music. Everyone is absolutely allowed to have their opinion and voice it, but jesus fucking christ music is subjective. don't start calling people fucking idiots cause they like a song that you don't, or vice-versa

6 Kravann This is great, just binge watched the rest of his videos and they're fucking amazing! Very unique
18 omarsdroog I'm kind of split. I like the composition of it but it's also pretty much "Friend zone: the song."

11 scttydsntknw85 Did anyone else feel this was a little too..."t3h PeNgU1N oF d00m-ish"? I feel like they were trying to be too random and insert a little of "I'm a nice guy" in there. other than that...I think it's pure garbage.Gonna go clean my earholes out with something good.

8 Leef_Aaronsen I really enjoyed this and I wasn't expecting anything at all! Good stuff.
3 Phonkadelic I loved this when I saw it, I hope he makes it somewhere much farther than his hometown with his music. He seems like he would do good living on the road, touring off of his music & playing gigs all over, I think that'd suit him.
