*Another report detailed the killing of children by police officers. Duterte has referred to the children killed during the drug operation as "collateral damage".*
Holy shit... I'd have to go full __Law Abiding Citizen__ on their ass and show them what a "vigilante" *really* does if my child was killed and called collateral damage.
Narcissistic psychopath as president - what could go wrong?
Sold his country out to China and kills his own citizens, mostly teenagers because he's too stupid or cheap to do drug treatment. How he polls so high is a testament to how dysfunctional PI is now
>In a speech before the Philippine Senate on Wednesday, Antonio Trillanes said the Duterte administration's own report shows 3,967 "drug personalities" have been killed after allegedly resisting arrest during police operations between July 1, 2016 and November 27, 2017.
>Another 16,355 homicide cases - from July 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017 - have been classified as "under investigation".
UPFRONT: Is Duterte's drug war undermining the rule of law? (12:32)
>The report also said 118,287 drug personalities have been arrested, and 1,308,078 others surrendered to authorities during the same period.
Before we start. Philippines is nation of around 106 mln people. With very low gdp and very high on crime index. So once we establish those we can move to stats:
- 3967 people killed by police while resisting arrests, seems pretty ok for heavy handed policy and relative size of population.
- 16,355 homicide cases. Aka total people killed not related to arrests. For 100mln people nation it is a lot not but not that much.
- 118,287 drug personalities have been arrested. Slightly high.
- 1,308,078 others surrendered to authorities during the same period. This is true shocker. Looks like policies work.
Overall it looks like his plan works. Which explains really why he has support of population.
Mexico had with 125mln population last year 23000 homicides.
US had 300mln+ population and 16 000 homicides in 2016 and that is well devloped nation with barely any organized crime compared to mexico or philipines.
Japan in 2016 with 125+mln population had about 500+ homocides...
It's just the wrong way to do things but is it making a difference? Are things better? Or is there no impact? Or, is drug use just as bad but hidden a bit deeper?
Drugs might be bad for your health and maybe even kill you, so to save you they will kill you outright in the Philippines.
>Duterte will make philiphines great for once
>Bans Drugs and creates a police state
Never change Wingnuts... Never change.
War by extermination. It is as though using a drug makes you no longer considered a human being and should be murdered unceremoniously at will by cops.
Some of those 20,000 may have even touched drugs once!
It’s gotten so bad theyve resorted to using mass graves for unclaimed bodies.
