155 TheNightsWallet Oh yeah? Well we're going to plant one the size of China. Two can play this game.
36 Johnny_W94 >China's government announced plans for a major reforestation project. The country aims to grow about 6.66 million hectares of new forests this year, an area roughly the size of Ireland.
79 thelordoftheweird Big Irish trees
13 usfdude223 I feel as though Ireland should plant new forests the size of China to prove a point.
170 HaveThingsToSay China has been doing tree planting to combat desertification for decades now. Due to the expanding desert from Inner Mongolia, areas north of Beijing has been subject to intensive tree planting for decades. China is also doing similar things in their western provinces to combat the expansion of the Gobi Desert also for decades. Maybe if information reporting on China is not all negative all the time, people might have a more balanced view on China (or you know, save 3000 dollars and actually visit China). Remember propaganda can simply be the omission of information.
7 TheHolySpartan I would love to know how much that effects their carbon footprint
6 adawkin Make the forest in the shape of Ireland too!
3 ameofonte Wow man china is really going full out this year with the environment plans. I’m not Chinese but I’m still proud of them
5 dave200204 At the end of the last century only Israel could claim to have more trees/forests than it did at the begging of the 1900's. Maybe China can join them in that number one spot. Maybe some other countries could follow the example.
